A trip to Harrison Brothers Hardware

It was cold and bitter outside – as one would expect on a January day – so I thought it would be a good day to stop in to one of Huntsville’s favorite historic spots. I was not disappointed!

Walking into the old store with its high ceilings, wall of shelves and old time counter, just felt warm and cozy. I love that there is plenty of the historic part of the store left, it makes a nice contrast to the cool selection of artisan style retail items. Though to be honest I took more photos of the crusty shelves, displays of old ledger books, orders and notes. I am always inspired by the textures and character of vintage things. There were some old ads to be found as well.

I love that they have a children’s area, and I appreciate the care they take in selecting the items they carry. I wish I had come here during the holidays! I will remember for this year!
