I want to be an artist when I grow up

I’m learning what lies beneath technique and style,

I’m learning about substance.

I’m searching for my voice and my song.

I’m learning that there is poetry in paint and I want to see it, and

I want to create it.

I’m finding colors and shades and texture in new places,

But I like it best in old places.

I am re-finding joy in creation, and

I want to share that with others.

I want to share the good in the world;

The Love we are all capable of.

I want to share what God shares.

I want you to see Him through your own eyes

So I will try to show Him to you through my art, because

I want to be an artist.
