Art Journal your way through “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron
The Artist’s Way, by Julia Cameron is more than a book; it’s a life changer. This course – it’s an experience not just a class – is an agent of creative awakening! We will meet for 3 hours on Saturday and dive into this classic!
You will get:
- A copy of the book (if you purchase that option)
- A fresh new art journal
- A lovely lined writing journal for your Morning Pages
- A smooth writing gel pen
- A large Creativity Bundle to take with you
- Art Journal Primer
We start with an overview of the book and how art journaling can be used to work through it. Then jump right into some techniques to get you started with the art part of journaling, and spend time creating. You can then work on the book at your own pace. This is one of the most requested classes I teach, and it’s been a little bit since I offered it. Now seems like a great time to dive into this journey!
REVIEWS
I absolutely loved the Art Journaling through the Artist’s Way course at Studio 127! There was so much to explore through the book that I actually took it twice. Monica is a gem and the open studio sessions are always inclusive and fun. I have enjoyed meeting some wonderful ladies and am grateful for the sense of community in the studio. The Artist’s Way is a revelation and not just for artists. Anyone who wants to explore their creativity will benefit from the class. I cannot recommend this course enough! – Beth
In her course on Art Journaling through the Artist’s Way, Monica Yother introduced me to a whole new world of creativity and self-discovery. She is a gentle, empathetic teacher, who introduces techniques with practical, easy-to-follow demonstrations. I came to her class with only a tiny notion of what art journaling could be, but in the year since I took her course, I have continued to do my “morning pages” and give myself “artist’s dates.” I credit Monica with helping me learn this new practice that can feed my creative soul every day. This is not a “paint-by-number” class where everyone follows a formula to turn out the same product in the style of the teacher. Monica, even as she journals alongside her students, encourages everyone to explore and find what works for them! – Susan
