This course – it’s an experience not just a class – is an agent of creative awakening! We will meet for 2.5 hours on October 26\, and instead of meeting weekly\, we’ll meet in the studio once month for a whole year. Although her book is set up for 12 weeks\, we’ll take our time and dig deep! \nYou will get: \n\nA copy of the book (if you purchase that option)\nA fresh new art journal\nA lovely lined writing journal for your Morning Pages\nA smooth writing gel pen\nA large Creativity Bundle to take with you\nArt Journal Primer\nAccess to 12 videos showing techniques\n\nWe start with a 2.5 hour class on Saturday\, October 26 and jump right into the book for a short overview and discussion\, pick up supplies\, learn some techniques to get you started with the art part of journaling\, and spend time creating. Using graphite and charcoal\, students will learn how to use lines\, shading and create volume and depth. Part of the class will be spent working on a full drawing using the techniques as they are learned. \n\nSept 7- Papers\, pencils and charcoal intro. How to fit the right tool to the job.\nSept 14 – Shading using hatching and blending. Understand values.\nSept 21 – Adding texture and detail. How much is too much.\nSept 28 – How to add depth\, and highlights.\n\nP lease bring an 8.5×11 black and white print of something simple you would like to draw. Suggestions: an object\, something from nature\, an animal. Pick something you care about or that interests you. We’ll be working on the drawing of this print each week. \nI keep the class small so you get as much out of the class as possible. Ages 12 and up. \n\n\n\n\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Restoration: the act of restoring; renewal\, revival\, or reestablishment.* \nThe benefits of creative activities are well recorded\, and not disputed. Art journaling is a a form of art that is very personal\, highly engaging\, and can be beneficial in many ways. An art journal can be a place to record thoughts\, ideas\, emotions\, memories or lessons learned. It can be a place to work through fear\, grief\, or a creative block. An art journal can be a place to explore new new ideas or places or new creative territory. \nThis workshop will introduce you to the practice of art journaling. You’ll be supplied with a new journal made especially for this purpose\, materials to use in your journal\, a primer\, writing prompts\, and instruction on some simple techniques to get your started. You’ll be able to take some materials home to continue. \nNo artistic experience is needed\, it doesn’t matter if you have never picked up a paint brush or if you are a regular crafter. SUMMARY:Art Camp for Adults
DESCRIPTION:All materials are supplied\, including lunch and up to $10 to use on one item at a thrift store. \n9:00am: Jars\, Tags & Gelli Rolls. First part of camp we’ll we’ll paint mason jars and while they dry\, we’ll decorate tags for Christmas gifts (or you can decorate them to use in a mixed media project or an art journal)\, and I’ll have gel print supplies out as well\, so you can print up some papers for your art stash. \n11:00am: Break for lunch in the studio\, provided by Good Company Café. Your choice of Avocado Toast\, Veggie Wrap\, Pimento Cheese Sandwich\, or Chicken Salad Salad. \n12:00pm:Head over to a thrift store close by (tbd) to find one item to use in a project…you’ll have up to $10 to spend. \n1:30pm: Meet back at the studio and spend the rest of the afternoon using your found treasure in a project. We’ll spend the first 30 minutes sharing what we found and coming up with a plan for it. Coffee & tea provided. \n3:45pm: All good things must come to an end\, and we’ll end our day in the studio at 4pm.
