Do one or both\, whatever your schedule allows! \nJUNK JOURNAL MAKING: 9:00am – 12:00pm \nWe’ll be taking old papers\, book pages\, painted and stained pages and putting them together to make a journal. I’ll show you a simple way to sew the books into the covers\, and then we’ll have time to start filling it. You are welcome to bring any papers you have been “stockpiling” (we don’t use the word “hoarding”). This is a fun way of creating a journal that has character built into every page! \nGEL PLATE PRINTING & OPEN ART JOURNALING: 1:00pm – 4:00pm \nIf you’ve been wanting to try gel plate printing but are not sure how to start\, this is the perfect class. And if you are already familiar and just need time and space to make your prints\, then this is also the perfect class! The older and more worn the scrap\, the better your junk journal will look. We are going to put our pages together in some kind of tasteful chaotic order\, and make it into a book! THEN we’ll have some time to start filling it.\n\nI’ll provide everything you will need\, but you are welcome to bring those papers and pages you’ve been keeping (we won’t use the word\, “hoarding.”) If you don’t have anything to bring\, don’t worry\, the studio has PLENTY.\n\nI’ve added an hour to the class\, so we’ll use the first 2 hours to make the journals\, then have another hour to add paint and start filling the pages. So bring a favorite beverage…this is a GREAT way to spend a Saturday afternoon!\n\nSpace is limited to 10.

Bring a friend or make new ones in the studio! All materials are supplied. \nAbout Dezzy Moon: \nDezzy Moon is an artist based in Huntsville\, Alabama. She graduated with a BFA in Printmaking from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2020. In printmaking\, she works primarily with screen print and woodblock. She is also dabbles in many crafts\, especially textiles. Her biggest loves are music (particularly rock from the 1960s-80s)\, pop culture\, travel\, roller skating\, and all things vintage.
