SUMMARY:Stretch Beyond the Page
DESCRIPTION:Are you ready to grow your creativity in a big way? If you enjoy art journaling and want to take it bigger\, this is for you. We’ll spend the weekend creating a canvas that explores the topic “My Creative Journey.” Maybe the idea sounds appealing but also indimidating. This retreat is designed to walk you through the entire creative process from planning to painting a mixed media piece on canvas – but in a relaxed contemplative way. \nFriday\, September 26 from 4-6pm with packet pickup\, meet and greet\, in a “come and go” setting. Attendance to this is not necessary\, it’s just an opportunity to get situated. For those who want a jump start\, you can make your own name badge! If you can’t make it Friday\, you’ll have the opportunity to make your name tag Saturday morning. \nOur retreat space is in Studio 127\, and we’ll spend most of our time here\, except for when we go on our FIELD TRIP. \nSaturday\, September 27\, 9am-5:30pm we open up at 8:00 for anyone who didn’t get their packets on Friday. Grab a cup of coffee or tea\, find a seat\, and make your name tag if you have not already. We’ll start promptly at 9am. Here’s the schedule: \n\nClass time: 9:00am-10:30am\nBreak10:30am-10:45am\nClass time: 10:45am-12:15pm\nLunch: 12:15-1:30pm\nBreakout session: 1:30pm-2:15pm\nBreak 2:15pm-2:30pm\nClass time:2:30-4:00pm\nField Trip to Thrift/Vintage store: 4-5:30pm\nMeet for dinner at Luis’s at 6:00pm (on your own and optional)\n\nSunday\, September 28\, 9am-12pm \n\nBreakout session 9:00am-10:30\nBreak 10:30-10:45\nClass time 10:45-12:15\nFinish up 12:15-12:30pm\n\nYour packet includes: \n\nHand Made Sketch Book\nNotebook\nLarge Canvas\nArt Journaling Primer\n\nLodging: \nIf you are coming in from out of town\, there are two hotels right next to the studio parking lot. Double Tree Inn and Hampton Inn. \nFood: \nBreakfast Muffins\, fruit\, coffee\, tea\, and juice Saturday and Sunday morning. (Good Company\, across from the studio has a fabulous breakfast menu if you want something more hearty. But get there early as they are busy on Saturdays) \nLunch is provided at the retreat on Saturday. \nDinner is on your own\, but we’ll have a table at Luis’s Mexican Restaurant (in the same complex as the studio) for those who want to join on Saturday night. \nSnacks will be available for those who want to nibble through the day \nCoffee will be available all weekend.
